The Kadampa Buddhist tradition is unique in that it offers three distinctive study programs.
General Program Classes are open to all and are appropriate for any level of study. Each class includes meditation periods, instruction, and discussion. This program introduces the basic tenets of Buddhism and meditation. For those looking for introductory text, we recommend Introduction to Buddhism and Transform Your Life, available at the Chittamani bookstore.
Sundays - 9:30 am to 11:00 am
The Foundation Program is a unique study program designed by Venerable Geshe
Kelsang Gyatso. It provides an excellent method of systematic study and
meditations, integrating Buddha’s wisdom advice into our daily lives. This
program helps us solve our problems and helps us develop happy and peaceful
states of mind. In November we began the study of
“Universal Compassion.” Please contact the center for more information.
Sundays - 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
To gain deep experience of Buddha's teachings, establish a strong meditation practice and become a qualified teacher it is important to have a qualified Teacher who can give us personal advice and encouragement, to listen to pure Dharma teachings and to belong to a strong spiritual community.
The TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM (TTP) is designed for people who wish to train as authentic Dharma Teachers. In addition to completing the study of twelve texts of Sutra and Tantra, the student is required to observe certain commitments with regard to behavior and way of life, and to complete a number of meditation retreats.
We are currently studying “Joyful Path of Good Fortune.” Please contact the Center for more information. Mondays and Fridays - 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
