In just one weekend, we can make significant strides in cultivating a deep experience of inner peace. This weekend retreat in the countryside offers a perfect opportunity to calm the mind, reflect on what matters the most, and experience meaningful personal transformation.
Life can sometimes feel chaotic and overwhelming with the endless flow of responsibilities, uncertainties, information, and conflict in our world. How can we transform what’s appearing in our life and keep a positive outlook? Buddha's "Lojong" teachings offer many ways of thinking and special meditations that empower us to transform difficulties into the spiritual path. We can come to see spiritual lessons in everyday life so that all our experiences become deeply meaningful and our mind more peaceful.
Please join us as the three Texas Kadampa centers come together to explore Buddha’s timeless wisdom for transforming modern life. Everyone is welcome!

Sometimes we make finding a solution to our problems very complicated. In reality, Buddha said love is the answer. With a mind of pure love, we can abide in peace and happiness all the time.
This day retreat will allow us to meditate on the three types of love and bring this elevated state of mind deep into our heart.
The day offers three sessions guided by Noreen Flack, Resident Teacher at KMC Austin. Live stream only!
$25 for the day, $15 seniors, students. Free for members.
Short Talk with Essence of Good Fortune Prayers
APRIL 15 | 7PM-8:15PM
Teachings and Prayers
April 15 is Buddha's Enlightenment Day, when we celebrate Buddha demonstrating how to attain enlightenment. Enlightenment is the inner light of wisdom that is completely free from mistaken appearance and whose function is to bestow mental peace upon each and every living being every day. It is the source of all living beings’ happiness.
Even though he had already attained enlightenment many lives previously, out of great compassion he emanated in our world to demonstrate how we too can follow this path.
On this holy day we honor Buddha Shakyamuni with a short teaching, chanted prayers and a guided visualization.

Our Mind & Our Emotions
Buddhist psychology teaches how to identify the habitual emotional habits that lead to unhappy states of mind. Simply noticing what your mind is doing can help you start to take control. Eventually we can learn how to react with healthier states of mind that lead to peace and happiness.
This morning class in Bastrop is suitable for everyone and is taught by Angelina Fadool from Kadampa Meditation Center Austin. Free.

You're welcome to join us in Dallas at KMC Texas for a public talk with visiting teacher Gen Demo on Friday, the full-day retreat on Saturday, or both! Each event offers unique insights, but together they provide a comprehensive understanding of how we can overcome the experiences of pain and sickness.
Friday, Apr 11 - 7:30pm – 9:30pm
Public Talk: Transforming Pain
Saturday, Apr 12 - 10:00am – 5:00pm
Full-Day Retreat: Healing Body and Mind
Being alive means that we all experience some kind of physical pain or illness at some point in our life, and sometimes these experiences can even be chronic in nature. When we are feeling unwell or in pain, it can be hard to know how to approach the situation in a spiritual manner.
Transforming the experience of illness and pain into the spiritual path is vital because we have no choice whether or not we get sick. However, if we can change our attitude towards these adverse conditions, we can lessen the impact that they have on us.
Instead of allowing these experiences to make us unhappy and discouraged, we can use Buddhist practices such as taking and giving, patient acceptance, and the emptiness of our body and the self we normally see to train our mind. Doing this enhances our experience of the stages of the spiritual path, and thereby teaches us how to gradually maintain a pure and peaceful mind all the time, especially during experiences of illness and pain.
Everyone welcome!
