Our negative states of mind—especially uncontrolled anger and frustration—create endless problems for ourselves and others, and prevent us from fulfilling our deepest wishes. Even when everything appears to be going well externally, a frustrated or angry mind can leave us feeling deeply unhappy.
In this two part workshop, we’ll explore practical methods for recognizing, understanding, and transforming these painful mental habits, so we can respond to life with greater patience, clarity, and inner peace.
Noreen Flack, Resident Teacher will guide us in meditations and offer Buddhist advice for dealing with painful states of mind.
$20 for the full workshop. $10 for one session. Live-stream only!
April 15 is Buddha’s Enlightenment Day, when we celebrate Buddha demonstrating how to attain enlightenment. Enlightenment is the inner light of wisdom, completely free from mistaken appearance, whose function is to bestow mental peace upon each and every living being. It is the source of all true happiness.
On this holy day, we engage in chanted prayers and a guided visualization of Buddha, led by Noreen Flack, Resident Teacher at KMC Austin.
Everyone welcome! In person is encouraged but livestream will also be available.
Donations are appreciated.

During this morning ceremony on Buddha’s Enlightenment Day, April 15, we take the eight Mahayana precepts, and explicitly promise to abstain for twenty-four hours from eight actions: killing, stealing, sexual activity, lying, taking intoxicants, eating after lunch, sitting on high or luxurious thrones or seats, wearing ornaments, perfume, etc, and singing and dancing, etc. These eight, however, are merely symbolic, for in reality we promise to abstain from all non-virtuous actions for twenty-four hours. Taking and keeping these precepts is a special purification practice. Buddha realized that all living beings’ suffering comes from their previous negative karma, and so he taught special practices to purify it.
This ceremony will be live-streamed at 6:30am and will be offered by Noreen Flack, Resident Teacher at KMC Austin. Free. Everyone welcome!
In this class, we will introduce the special breathing meditation known as the OM AH HUM meditation which combines the breath with a simple mantra recitation. Internally chanting these sacred sounds can bring peace and healing. Join us as we learn how to incorporate this simple, powerful form of practice into our daily lives.
Everyone Welcome! $10/$5 Seniors, Members free

For spiritual practitioners, going for refuge to the Three Jewels is the gateway for entering Buddhism. We recognize that we need help from Buddha, Dharma and Sangha in order to make swift progress towards the real peace and happiness we seek. By going for refuge we can eventually accomplish full enlightenment and help others in the same way.
This retreat is led by Noreen Flack, Resident Teacher at KMC Austin. Everyone welcome!
