This morning workshop will explore Buddha’s advice for living a life full of purpose. How can we use our life in the most meaningful way? Our own suffering can cause us to ask, what’s the point? However, with spiritual practice, our suffering can offer great power for spiritual growth. In this way, instead of weakening us, our suffering gives us direction, strength and purpose.
Donovan Acker, senior teacher at KMC Austin, will offer Buddhist meditations and practical methods for living with joy and purpose.
Tantra is an inner spiritual technology that harnesses the power of our imagination to bring about swift transformation. In this class we will introduce how Tantric practice allows us to let go of our ordinary limited view of ourselves, and how to meditate very deeply with subtle and peaceful states of mind that have great power to purify our mind completely.
The gateway through which we enter Tantra is receiving a Tantric empowerment. An empowerment bestows upon us special blessings that heal our mental continuum and awaken our Buddha nature.
This introductory class is meant to encourage those who have not received a Tantric empowerment to consider attending the UK Summer Festival at Manjushri KMC in England. More information can be found on the “Heading Out of Town” retreats page.

With mental health issues on the rise, many people are turning to Buddha’s timeless wisdom for advice and guidance to develop a balanced and peaceful mind. This wisdom helps us to recognize our potential for happiness, love and other good qualities. With practice we will gain a sense of optimism and inner strength and be of great benefit to our family, friends and everyone around us with the power of our peaceful mind.
During this special evening talk, Gen Kelsang Rigpa, Buddhist monk and Western US National Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition will teach us how to understand the mind and present the relationship between meditation, inner peace, and a deeper sense of purpose in our lives. Everyone welcome!
